These pics are the result of our photography lesson, the aim of which was to help us to photograph our artwork and other items, people etc for our art practice.

After going through the various settings on a camera and how and why to select them we set up a photo shoot in order to practice what we’d learnt.

We photographed a coffee jar against a white paper background, lit with an angle poise lamp. To take the photo we bounced light onto the shadow side with white board to balance the light distribution.

Used a bag of rice to stand the camera on to avoid camera shake and used the delay timer to avoid moving the camera at the point of exposure, thus ensuring a crisp shot.

We then photographed each other, using natural light and the white board, camera steadied on rice bag with delay timer used again.
